#ICYMI: Cupcakes & Cocktails One Year Anniversary

Screen shot 2015-06-17 at 3.07.00 PMI had the pleasure of attending Cupcakes & Cocktails‘ One Year Anniversary with our lovely Creative Director, Amanda, on Sunday, May 17th. The event took place at the chic Levelz Style Lounge in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood.

Before I get into the details of the night, let me tell you a little about the company: Founded in 2014, by Brittney McCoy, Cupcakes & Cocktails is a dessert catering company that also offers cupcake decorating classes for adults. Inspired by the “wine & paint” parties popping up all over Chicago, Brittney wanted to create a hands-on activity that was not only interactive but tasty! Cupcakes & Cocktails actually started as just a couple of decorating classes a week, but as people started to taste the cupcakes, the demand for ordering grew almost immediately.Screen shot 2015-06-17 at 3.06.56 PM

“Our mission is to provide the freshest desserts, and to create a fun unique atmosphere for our classes” says Brittney.

Cupcakes & Cocktails is widely known for their alcohol infused cupcakes, but also offers a variety of non-alcoholic desserts including cakes and cake pops, and the kid friendly option Build Your Own Cupcake bar.

This was a great day for celebration, the weather was PERFECT so I was definitely in the mood to mix and mingle with fellow local business owners. The decor was adorable, balloons adorned the ceiling and from their stings were pictures that documented the year’s journey. I thought that was a great personal touch and gave me more insight about what the company culture was, friends and fun. You’ll be able to see the set up for yourself in the recap video above but before you do, just know that the cupcakes and sweets were amazing! Pink and white cake pops, cupcakes, chocolate covered pretzels… that’s only the beginning. I have a super sweet tooth so it was more than my pleasure to taste the soft, decadent desserts that Brittney baked. So good!
